If Jameson's connections to Wo Fat were exactly what they looked like, she was one cold hearted bitch for offering Steve the taskforce. On the other hand, it can be seen as a form of karmic payback. She's in bed with the Devil, so she found someone capable of getting the Devil's henchmen.
Steve McGarrett is a single minded FREAKING IDIOT. He was perfectly in character throughout the episode, but that doesn't make the final five minutes hurt any less.
This episode is full of potential forks in the road. Danny is not the father of Rachel's baby. Steve stayed in hiding after visiting Kamekona, or went straight to the jungle and off radar. Chin took the LT badge when it was first offered. Steve anticipated Wo Fat in the governor's office and managed to take him down before he shot Jameson.
