Ahh, those were the days.

Nothing more than 1 or 2 sentence exclamations, really...
-- Look at the H/W friendship coming in hard left with witty banter and snark!
-- The clinic patients were so much cooler in the first season, don't you think? No cleverly crafted connections to the POTW, or someone's personal life. Just an occasionally comic aside to the main events of the episode, like they were supposed to be.
-- The ducklings hanging out, freely mocking their boss, with no inter-duckling tension or mentions of crushes, sex, or articles.
-- Enter Edward Vogler from stage right... Fox's crappiest attempt at a TV villain since... well, in a long time. Tritter comes a close second in that particular competition ;)
-- And an extra big AWW! to Chase's daddy issues. Much better when it was with his real daddy rather than House.
-- I love it that we learn the ducklings' first names when Cameron decides to get pissy assertive irrititatingly pissy.
-- And LOOK! House actually gives a crap about his patients.
It's watching the first season that makes everything else (cohabitation aside, lol) that came after... not so good. Shame ;)

I'm shallow, yet delightfully selective at the same time. Teehee.

hope the writing monkeys catch themselves, before the show gets crappy.

Date: 2007-04-10 09:56 pm (UTC)*shudder* I get that they have to do that, otherwise we the viewers don't give a crap about the characters, therefore ratings can potentially go down; however some kind of reality check needs to be maintained to stop the show turning into a microcosm of Grey's Anatomy, or even General Hospital ;) (see BSG as the antithesis to this. All the emotional/soul searching/quadrangle arcs of season 3 was skilfully done and kept me watching).
I don't think it would be so bad with House if there wasn't so much determination from the writers to keep and any all
pathetic semblance of/attempt atromance in the Diagnostics Department, with the exception of Foreman who *gasp* has a life outside of the hospital (until the drug rep girlfriend was ditched *sigh).hope the writing monkeys catch themselves, before the show gets crappy.
Amen to that. There is a slim shot at redemption here, as soon as Chase and Cameron's fellowships end, and/or Cameron finally gets a level of emotional maturity equal to her age. Whichever comes sooner ;)

I also hope that there's not going to be more H-C stuff, I find that just annoying.
And I want interesting cases again!!!
"Foreman who *gasp* has a life outside of the hospital"
he's coming a little short lately, I mean, only one or two sentences per episode... that's not nice. hope that changes too.
but even with all the moaning, I have to say, House is still one of the best shows, currently running. :-)

Date: 2007-04-11 08:36 am (UTC)In all fairness I think it has been done to death. She's tried honesty, blackmail and is now trying to use Chase to get House interested. None of it's worked. However, I read somewhere that one of the producers is a diehard House/Cameron shipper, so I don't know if they're going to let that one die yet or not. (They should, though. Just sayin' ;) ).

Absolutely. Didn't mean to say anything against that in the slightest. They just need to let go of this
stoopid, insaneurge to turn the show into Grey's Anatomy and the like, and instead focus on what made the show so utterly brilliant in the first season; the cases, the friendship, the wit and one-liners, and a fair balance of plot and screentime between all the main characters. PTB, I'm talking about Wilson ;)
