proof of life
Feb. 6th, 2010 08:42 pmAm still very much Lurking Without Interwebs Intent, and having caught up with almost a week's worth of flist fun and games, I found... this:
Tellybox Meme
1. Name a TV show in which you have seen every episode at least twice.
Criminal Minds (every episode on DVD, that is!)
2. Name a current show you can't miss.
Come Dine With Me, Eggheads, Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats are the only reasons I switch on the tellybox at the moment. On the American side of things, there's White Collar, Criminal Minds and The Mentalist that I try very much to keep up with!
3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show.
Michael C. Hall
4. Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show.
No one so far.
5. Name a show you can, and do, quote from.
Mostly House, MD and The Big Bang Theory. Also quoted Jack O'Neill from Stargate SG-1 to The Mother just this evening!
6. Name a show you like that no one else enjoys.
Probably Power Rangers. Complete guilty pleasure, and perfect for watching when one has the lurgy :D
7. Name a TV show which you've been known to sing the theme song.
I have no idea.
8. Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch.
Six Feet Under; Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
9. Name TV series you own.
The West Wing; Six Feet Under; CSI (original); Without a Trace; Nip/Tuck; The Tudors; Hustle; The Dead Zone; Psych; House, MD; Dexter; Criminal Minds; OZ; Spooks; Boston Legal; Numb3rs; Gundam Wing AC; Heroes; Battlestar Galactica (new series); The 4400; Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; Star Trek: Enterprise; Supernatural; Primeval; Dollhouse; Sea of Souls; Power Rangers: Dino Thunder; Stargate Atlantis; Merlin... I think that's it!
10. What is your favourite episode of your favourite series?
The finale of Six Feet Under, "Everybody's Waiting". I cried like a baby watching that.
11. Name a show you mean to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet.
The Thick of It... have just ordered the DVDs though!
12. Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
I usually quit out of boredom more than actual badness, and I've dropped off Stargate: SG-1, Numb3rs, The Big Bang Theory, Nip/Tuck and Dexter because I've lost all sense of investment. Among others, most likely. I still rewatch the earlier seasons from time to time though.
13. Name a show you aren't interested in watching, not in the least.
Lost.
14. Name a show that's made you cry multiple times.
Six Feet Under
15. Oldest TV show you like?
I honestly have no idea.
16. Newest TV show you like?
White Collar
17. What do you eat when you watch TV?
Dinner, usually.
18. How often do you watch tv?
Anything from 40 minutes a day (roughly one episode of most shows) to an entire day, depending on how much free time I have and how new and shiny the boxset is :D My current record is 10 hours plus watching the first two series of Spooks back to back, which would have been years ago now!
19. Do you have a favourite talk show?
I don't watch talk shows. Panel shows on the other hand could kind of qualify for this, in which case I adore Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats and QI.
20. What's the last TV show you watched?
8 Out of 10 Cats
21. What's your favourite or preferred genre of TV?
Sci fi or procedural drama.
22. What's your least favourite genre of tv?
Reality television.
23. What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Six Feet Under. Would have been about fifteen when the fourth series was airing on telly over here, and the channel airing it did a spectacular job of not advertising it, changing the day and time it aired each week (usually around midnight on school nights), and yet I still managed to watch all but one of the episodes. Go me.
24. What TV show do you wish you never watched?
Only the Channel 4 documentaries, like the one I watched last week about women desperate to have female children and getting clinically depressed because they were only having sons, and going to bonkers extremes to try and have girls. That made me boggle a bit at humanity - mostly because I actually pitied all the little boys glimpsed onscreen, because they're going to grow up knowing they'll never be as special to their mommies because they don't have girl bits. Children are children aretotally not my thing children. Surely it doesn't matter what frigging gender they are, or am I missing something?
25. What's the weirdest show you enjoyed?
Literally weird, or just something I've enjoyed that's made other people boggle and go, "Dude, you like that?" ...I don't know, though! Depends on your definition of weird! ;)
26. What TV show scared you the most?
The X-Files did a pretty good job creeping me out.
27. What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
Mock the Week. Those pesky panel shows again!
28. What do you think is the best TV show ever made?
Six Feet Under. Beautifully crafted complete story.

Date: 2010-02-10 09:31 am (UTC)Not to mention her long term partner was only good for giving her the girls. I just felt so sorry for her sons, because they've got to actually live with perfect human beings - oops, I meant sisters.
Siiiiiiiiigh. I knew there was a reason I stayed way from channel 4 documentaries :(
