So I did a lot of tellywatching this afternoon. Well, I say 'a lot', I actually just finished off the Spooks and Sanctuary DVDs.

Watched the last four episodes of series 7 of Spooks back-to-back and oh. My. GOD. Those four episodes were SO MUCH BETTER than the first four. Mostly because they ditched Lucas' ex-wife, explained/dealt with Jo's PTSD thing and got properly into the conspiracy subplot. Peter Firth's acting in the last two episodes was nothing short of magnificent, and that one sequence of him in the finale literally walking into the hands of the FSB to save his team and greater London needs to be picspammed. I shall do this tomorrow, once the episode is finished encoding :D

Small side note: I'm currently ripping every single episode of Spooks that I have on DVD (60-something in total, I think) for the purposes of making an epic, all-encompassing vid which I have already named "Defence of the Realm". Because clearly I'm mental, but that's another story ;)

On the Sanctuary side of things, I watched the season 1 finale "Revelations, Parts 1 and 2" and all I can really think to say after all that... HOLY HELL WATSON. Peter Wingfield had crazy mad chemistry with everyone, not least Jack The Freaking Ripper and That Other Guy, Will. Why is there no Watson/Will fanfic, people? WHHHHYYYYYYYYYYY?

Favourite quote: "Basically, the guy who invented radio just dissed Jack the Ripper." Awesome :D

And, you know, there was all that conspiracy stuff with the Cabal having their wicked ways with Henry and Ashley, and Bigfoot going nuts and an all out war coming... yeah, whatever. And I'm not really seeing the Helen/John, [livejournal.com profile] nomorefrostbite. Either I'm missing something, or that just gets fleshed out a lot more in season 2. Hmm.

What else... nope, I've got nothing. At least not until I get my hands on series 8 of Spooks :D

Well, season 2 isn't that exciting so far. Not bad-bad, but not much better than season one. I still love it for the unexpected!SG!actor amusement and the terrible cgi. lol

Wommmaaannnnnn you're betraying me with your lack of Helen/John shippiness!!!!!!!!

Amanda Tapping says they're THE OTP of the show, and Amanda Tapping is literally never wrong. And they are. They're completely equal opposites. They're DOOMED LOVERS.

In a similar way to how Watson/Druitt are doomed lovers. DOOMED TO HAVE LOTS OF HOT GAY SEX AND THEN BREAK UP BECAUSE JOHN IS THE RIPPER AND THEN BE AT ODDS FOR A CENTURY THEN HAVE MORE HOT GAY SEX THEN HAVE ANGST. Because James dies and totally shouldn't have :(

I seriously can't even get why you're not seeing the Helen/John. All she ever does is hallucinate about him and their tragic love, and all he ever does is pine away for her and reminisce. And then when they're thrust back together, all they do is flirt!

SEASON 2. WATCH IT. Well... watch the first three, then Pavor Nocturnus, then Haunted.

I just can't believe you're somehow missing it.

BUT at least you've realised that Watson is a GQMF BAMF. So maybe there's hope for you yet, woman!
