I'm not dead!!

I've just been living in the land of the internetless for the last couple of weeks, since moving into the flat. And especially since giving my laptop to Baby Brother in the name of family, or some other crazy concept.

t_eyla asked for photos of the flat, and while I did manage to take several (not bad for a three room place!), I can't quite figure out how to upload them to LJ at the moment. But they will be coming!

And while I am at home at the moment, I can actually access the unencrypted wireless that's emanating from the building next to me... because I bought a netbook this morning! :D I followed t_eyla's advice and ended up with a Samsung NC10 model that I ended up getting an extra 5% off as it was an ex-display model (and the last one in stock. Result!). So even though I still haven't got around to getting my own internet sorted out, I can at least use my own computer when I go and scab off other people's bandwidth :)

Got back on Tuesday from Nottingham after the funeral on Monday, and as funerals go, it was pretty bloody brilliant. When you consider that my granddad was acerbic in the finest tradition of the 'grumpy old man', yet also warm and cuddly and fiercely devoted to his wife liquor cabinet and fishing buddies... it was more like a party than a wake for most of the afternoon :)

So now just ploughing through the various challenges I've signed up for that are still ongoing, and along with The Mother throwing myself back into work for the Christmas rush. Which means I'm still probably not going to be around for the next wee while, but I will be here and there :)

It does feel a bit clandestine checking Livejournal like this! ;) And bizarre, because the netbook is seriously tiny. I think it's going to take a while to get used to this one!
