Finally went into the estate agents' this afternoon about the flat in the town centre that I've had my eye on for some time. I left again approximately two minutes later with one of those little flyer type things with a bigger external photo, optimistic description of the place, and some dimensions and costings - and an appointment to view the flat at the beginning of next week.

I've also managed to arrange with some friends to converge on Brighton this weekend for a Pre Birthday Lunch Thing, as I've taken to calling it. Which is going to be awesome, as it's also going to be the first time in years that I've got something organised for my birthday that doesn't involve family. (That's being saved for Sunday, because Daddy Dearest and I share said birthday, and there's only so much I can get away with not doing!)

And finally, a meme:

1. If you'd like, comment to this entry saying 'ICONS!' and I will pick 6 of your icons.
2. Make an entry in your own journal and talk about the icons I picked!

[livejournal.com profile] lady_drace picked the following:

1. Um, current favourite character on television, in one of my favourite episodes from recent television, and a computer shot... because I am a geek like that?

2. Okay, I admit, I was looking for an excuse to make an icon with 'orgy' written on it. And then along comes Phlox, who at the time I was writing a decent amount of POV for for a ficathon. It is canon that Phlox' species practice a form of polyamory, and that Phlox himself is eager to, ahem, learn about humans and human sociology and whatnot. So: Orgy? All for the furtherment of scientific knowledge of course :D

3. Okay, a couple of explanations required here. One, Animorphs was my very, very first ever fandom back in the day, and I still have a great affection/nostalgia for the series now (come on, who didn't want to be an Animorph?!), so every so often I go trawling through the LJ comms to see what's out there, and I stumbled across a post asking for examples of "things Skippy is no longer allowed to do at the Animorphs' meetings" (or something like that), and another post where someone had made icons from some of their favourite offerings. Which is where this comes from.

4. It's a former Marine turned lawyer stuck in an air vent because he's not as lithe as he thinks he is. What's not to love mock?

5. So there's this guy called Kavan Smith, who played a recurring character called Major Evan Lorne on SGA. For a while he had another recurring role as Agent Jed Garrity on The 4400, which is where this cap/icon is from. Thing is, I could never watch 4400 without thinking of Garrity as Lorne, hence the icon being known as Dorky Lorne, rather than That Dorky NTAC Agent From That Other Sci Fi Show Filmed In Vancouver. And I'm not the only one. (Scroll down right to the last picture.)

6. It's Garak and Bashir. Do I really need to explain this one?? :D

1. I had hoped to find out 'who' it is. But geeky will do. :o)
2. Of course... the things we do for science...
3. Chuck Norris isn't afraid of the dark. The Dark is afraid of Chuck Norris. All I'm sayin'.
4. Nice rear, too.
5. Oh... explains a lot.
6. No you don't, but it's me... how could I NOT want more info on those boys??? *blows kisses*
