Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you. (Please note: If you simply wish to comment on something I've said but don't want to participate in the meme, that is fine. I will only give you five words if you specifically comment you with 'Words!')
wihluta gave me the following words:
Uni
Simply put, university was the best experience of my life. I ended up going to Keele as a compromise against North Wales, and after a slow start (about two years or so!) I started making some really awesome friends, and generally getting more out of the whole uni thing than just showing up for lectures and reluctantly pulling long evenings down at the library. I'm only in regular contact with about one of those friends still, but sooner or later I'm going to get off my lazy arse and try and sort something out to fix that.
Vids
...Something I think about a lot more than I actually do? Hee. I've been vidding for... almost three years now and while I wouldn't class myself as great, I'd like to think I'm a lot better than when I started out with diddy encodes of TV rips of Enterprise episodes. I mostly credit vidding with my large DVD collection; as time as gone by my purist tendencies have come through - I like vidding with high quality source footage! The vast majority of my vids only exist in my head though - it's a great coping mechanism for some of the more tedious jobs down at work - but I do try and make some of them. Honest :D
Future
Ah, the future. I used to want to be a vet. Then I watched a BBC documentary that involved vets sticking their hands up horses' asses, and decided to do something else instead. When I was really little I wanted to be a writer, but since most of my stories were badly written RPF based on my classmates (I was seven, SHUT UP), I figured that was never going to go anywhere. At the beginning of my third year at uni I seriously looked into training to become a librarian (the decision totally not based on a Without a Trace librarian AU *shifty look*). After graduation it took me about three months to look into training to be an English teacher - I now have the qualification, but in the current climate, I figured I had a better chance sticking with the job I've already had about six months informal training for - curtain making. I can see myself quite happily - or at least contentedly - doing that for at least a few years to come. I've honestly no idea what's going to happen five or ten years down the line, but for now... yeah, I think I'm good.
Sci-fi
The one true love of my life :D
Okay, seriously... actually no, I think that's all I can put into words on the matter.
Britain
Britain is... it's my home. It's who I am. Never moreso than since I started spending a significant amount of time online have I felt particularly English. I'm not especially fond of the administration or the way things are being run (or not being run as the case may be), but I really don't think I could live anywhere else. Not in the long term.
