Been at [livejournal.com profile] drakcir's since Friday, and [livejournal.com profile] digitaljessie for a few days before that, so I've not been around much. Once again I haven't seen much of Swansea (where Draka is still a lazy bum student), but the company's been pretty awesome :D

Friday night I managed not to get leched upon by the resident lech in Draka's Egypt Centre volunteer group - this is apparently a monumental achievement, and being party to the group's pseudo-bisexual shenanigans was also rather fun.

Having the TEFL course be over doesn't really feel like it's over yet... for one thing I still think in terms of lesson plans. So, I present to you:

LESSON PLAN TRIP TO SWANSEA

Aims of lesson trip to Swansea: a) introduce Draka to Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, b) hash out ideas and plans for various 'thons and fests that self stupidly signed up for.

Blah blah... achievement of aims: a) Draka not impressed with dungeon bosses and high number of pixellated spiders in Ocarina. May require extra work to convince her game is worth playing and completing; b) have firm bunny for [livejournal.com profile] sga_genficathon entry and vidbunny for [livejournal.com profile] house_bigbang trailer. Entry for [livejournal.com profile] sticksandsnark pending. Possible will attempt narrative based vidlet.

Additional notes: Have fallen woefully behind in telly viewing. Have yet to finish season 3 of The West Wing and Nip/Tuck, current season 4 episodes of Battlestar Galactica... and just about eveything else accumulating on my DVD shelf and hard drive that has yet to be watched. Sigh.
Will attempt to rectify this deficiency by taking time out every remaining evening this week to catching up on the lives and exploits of fictional people.

Additional note to self all: Criminal Minds still frakking awesome. Should never have doubted self.

This reminds me that I wanted to ask you where you signed up fir this TEFL course. I'm wondering if I should do one over the summer to have a bit of extra qual. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Also, YAY for fangirl meetings! :-)

Thank you so much!

I will look around a bit and it's good to have a place to start.

I already have the highest exam you can get as non-native speaker (Cambridge Proficiency) and since I studied English to be a Teacher in Germany I basically already have the qualification. It's just a question of how much they accept it over here. I was kinda hoping of getting the Qualification with the least amount of work possible. *gg*

My CPE is one of the few things I'm really proud of, because only two years earlier I was barely able to do an oral exam (basic level) in English. After living in Britain for a year I managed an A. It still amazes me. :-)

NB: Add to action plan; more series marathon time with the DJ. House is a definite must.
