Quite a few things have been happening lately, and I thought I would share them with y'all.

My uncle, with whom we have not been in contact since 2000 is planning to travel down to spend the weekend with Mum and the kids, after I pointed her in his direction on Facebook, of all places, last week. Socially acceptable stalking network sites just started reuniting families.

I've only been watching it properly for a couple of weeks, when I made [livejournal.com profile] explodedpen sit through an episode with me (to be fair though, she did seem to prefer hijacking my internet connection while the television was on!), but I'm now hooked on Criminal Minds, yes I am. University network restrictions mean I can only download one episode a day (I finished downloading episode 8 earlier), but since I have a habit of watching entire seasons of 'new' shows in one or two sittings, this is actually a good thing; only being able to watch one episode a day means - in theory - I won't abandon my studies entirely. Although the way my dissertation research is looking at the moment... we'll see ;)

Going back to the subject of family, though, I found out a little earlier that my mother has joined an amateur dramatics group, and will actually be performing - I assume as part of a chorus line or somesuch since she stressed she would not be performing any solos - towards the end of May. I'm torn as to whether I want to watch a showing of the play or not. It's not that I doubt her ability to sing or dance - the woman was a Butlins Redcoat before I came along - but... oh, I don't know. I'll see what my exam timetable looks like, and then make up my mind.

Oh, and I need to email my uncle several batches of photos. Better go and do that before I have to leave for CF. Hee.
