Housesitting
Jun. 24th, 2010 07:56 pmIt's official: I'm going to be housesitting for a week in the middle of nowhere at the end of July.
The Mother and Littlest Sister are heading up to Scarborough for a week after the schools break up for the summer, and Other Sister, while unconfirmed, will probably spend that week bouncing around her friends. Meanwhile, yours truly will be at the house in Village X, generally looking after the place, but more specifically caring for the two cats, the rabbit and the two hamsters.
The nearest train station is three miles away. There is no official bus service, although I'm told buses do occasionally traverse the lanes and by roads around here. And my father is a grumpy bastard who refuses to drive out to the Village at all, and has already told me that if I'm housesitting, he won't be coming out to pick me up for anything.
Arguably, this is going to be a brilliant opportunity to lark around, do what I want, and bring both computers and plenty of boxsets with me so I can vid and marathon to my heart's content.
...I'd rather not be on my own for the entire week though, and it's looking like that is going to be the case.
