The Lozenge Count
Oct. 2nd, 2008 11:30 amBeen a bit of a crazy week, both good and bad. Sita came to visit for a long weekend, and we did lots of geeky things. Which included discussing fandom on the beach, plotbunnies and WIPs on trains and buses, and there was a very interesting conversation about science fiction and sexuality that led to me shouting out, "Malcolm's bi, dammit!" in the middle of Covent Garden in London.
Fun times ;)
Also, according to her they're crying out for British-English teachers in Germany at the moment (ie native English speakers who are from Britain, and especially England, originally), so once I've gotten this diploma thing and have boned up on my German once more, I should be able to find teaching work in Germany, which is awesome. And if I could get a placement somewhere in Bavaria, it might mean being able to move in somewhere with Sita, as once her exams are over she'll be given her first full time teaching placement fairly locally to Munich, where she's doing her degree. It's all still incredibly hypothetical at the moment but it does bear a lot of looking into in the coming few months.
While we were in London on Monday, we walked in, out of and around the Tottenham Court Road and Goodge Street underground stations until we eventually found the second hand DVD shop that had a single copy of Cube in stock. I actually bought the film two years ago, but then went and loaned it to someone I never spoke to again. So very pleased to finally find another copy of it! :D
In other news... well, there isn't a lot of news, actually. I came down with a cold on Monday, so in an attempt to not lose my voice again, I've been taking lots of lovely flu meds and throat lozenges. I can deal with the headaches and a perpetually blocked nose, but I would love to avoid the laryngitis if it is at all possible.
It would definitely be a first!
