You know, when you click a box in a search engine or something similar, click it twice and a drop down list appears with everything you've ever typed in to one of those boxes including the really embarrassing typos because it was 2am and it was either Google or stare at the ceiling for the rest of the night.

But that's not what this is about... at least, I don't think it is. Who knows, I could be wrong. It's happened (a lot) before ;)

But I've just watched the last few eps of Bones, including the season finale (nope, still no House, [profile] t_eyla, sorry!), and I couldn't help but wonder about a bunch of things.

Bones is an overtly 'shippy show. Which is not that unsual in itself, but probably unusual in that I continue to watch it despite the absolute lack of 'viable' slash onscreen. Okay, there have been some Booth/Hodgins moments that absolutely cannot be denied, but they happen about as many times as *searches for a sci fi based metaphor*, um...McKay/Ford moments in SGA. (What? Don't look at me like that.)

The primary pairings in Bones are Booth/Brennan and Hodgins/Angela. I'm almost relucant to list the first one because it's all you ever bloody find on ff.net etc., but it's there. And so, apparently, is the UST. I'm not really seeing that though, unless it's done in a way that's so unbelievably obvious I have to press pause and go put the kettle on or something. There's also been some Booth/Cam and Brennan/Sully, both of which I buy into a lot more than that other combination. Which really is saying something because I'm by nature either a slasher or whatever the going noun/adjective/whatever-it's-called for 'fan of gen' is these days...

...and now my brain cells have gone dead because Doctor Who's just started up on BBC1. So far it looks like the bastard child of BSG's "33" and the entire concept of 24. Except, you know, there aren't any Cylons and there's a Jonas Armstrong lookalike instead of whoever plays Jack Bauer. Hee hee. More disappointing, however, is the utter lack of Captain Jack after the promo the week before last showing him in it. Silly Beeb.

But back to Bones. I still don't know why I'm talking about it here, let alone still watching it. I shouldn't be, because it goes against everything I'm into. I'm never going to write fanfiction about it, and I'm fairly sure there's not much of an audience for gen or slash vids. I found one slash comm. for the show on Livejournal, but most of everything else, even the general comms are infused with teh BB lurve. Erk. (And I can't believe I just wrote that.) Actually I'm not entirely sure I'd ever try to make a Bones vid.

The last two eps of season 2 earlier were interesting. In 2x21 Angela finally agreed to marry Hodgins, which made me smile. I think it was in the same episode, before that scene, Hodgins asked Booth for advice, and ended up waffling to him about Angela instead of actual chatting, and when Booth went to shake his hand about the revelation he'd come to, Hodgins latched on and hugged him. I squeed. And thought back to the ep from season 1 where Booth and Hodgins chased after the perp who had Brennan tied up somewhere, both of them squished into Hodgins' Mini.

God, this is seeming more and more like a waste of a post with each sentence. General statement: I really, really like Bones, even though technically I shouldn't. And this is the month where everything worth watching from the other side of the pond finishes until the summer/autumn, so maybe I'm just mourning Bones until the third season starts up. Yeah, definite waste of a post ^^

Go watch Bones. It's good.

Back to Doctor Who, though. Nice twist thirty minutes into the episode, even if Michelle Collins is annoying the pants off me. The sun's aliiiiiiiiiiiiive... and I stand by what I said before; the semi-realtime format and the enclosed set does make this at least the ADHD child that wants to be adopted by BSG and 24. Still largely bored though. Martha's mother/family issues don't interest me, neither does Martha at the moment, and the blatant pop culture reference (like when they played "Tainted Love" and Britney Spears in the first series) was irritating also. The happy numbers thing was entertaining though, will have to make a note of that.

Just thought of something... what if the Jonas Armstrong lookalike does actually turn out to be Jonas Armstrong in the credits? Hehe...

Martha's mummy's in collusion with black suits looking for the Doctor!!

Like that wasn't going to happen at some point.

And I missed the end credits typing that... anyone know if that was Jonas Armstrong in the ep? I mean, surely it would have been mentioned at some point. After all, it's not like the BBC self-promote everything to death...
