Sep. 21st, 2011 03:53 pmThe majority of the US/Canadian shows I watch start back up this week \o/ There goes any semblance of a life I had!
Hawaii Five-0 2.01 Ha'i'ole - Not what I was expecting, which is to say it was pretty bloody good. Mad frenetic pace and predictable Danny/Rachel reset (with which I have Issues, no lie) aside, it was a lot of fun with some decent storytelling AND JENNA AT THE END OMG WHAAAAAAAAT?
I demand explanations, show! Is it next week yet!?
Flashpoint 4.08 Grounded - Solid episode, some interesting character moments and real life parallels. Nice and reliable :D
Castle 4.01 Rise - I don't entirely know what to make of that. On the one hand, Beckett's behaviour after the surgery came off as kind of douchey, and Castle was right to do what he did. On the other hand, with this Mysterious Dude holding Montgomery's cards, Castle could spend a significant number of episodes lying to Beckett, supposedly for her own good. I don't know. Should I be glad there's all this murky shades-of-grey thing going on? Because... that's not why I watch Castle. I watch Castle because it's a bit mad, usually fun and with some brilliant writing meta.
On the new characters front - I like 'Iron' Gates, she's just what the precinct needs right now, and she will likely ease up once everyone's had a chance to get used to the new regime (ha! like operating by the book is a bad thing). Also Worf as a therapist is made of so much win.
In short, definitely a rewatch or two in order. And not a bad way to start the week at all!
