come on, come on, get happy!
Dec. 6th, 2010 08:06 pmBack at home, where it is still freezing cold no thanks to the boiler being certifiably dead. But I'm refusing to let it get me down (too much).
So I've been looking for things that make me happy instead.
I've found some DVD job lots on eBay that are not only ridiculously cheap but also end tomorrow. Despite being dirt broke after bailing out my shopaholic sister last week, I am determined to win at least one of the auctions.
The charity shop underneath my flat has a decent selection of books at the best of times, but today made me grin and flail a little on the inside; I found a copy of this little gem from my childhood.
Speaking of which, I've been working my way through Everworld, another series by the same author as the linked book, and I've finally made it to the three books I didn't read the first time around - and they're all ghostwritten. Sigh. The last quarter to a third or so of the Animorphs books were ghostwritten as well, which I really don't get. There may have been special circumstances, or something else I'm not aware of, but we're talking teeny, tiny little paperback volumes that generally take less than a hour at a time to read. And the author's had someone else do most of the legwork. Brain just does not compute. Small gripe, though, in the grand scheme of things.
On a weird note, I've been amassing Doctor Who vidbunnies over the last few days - specifically for the 11th Doctor episodes even though I still haven't watched all the episodes. Again with the brain not... eh.
Finally... any more takers for Christmas cards? I'm planning to get them sent out by the end of the week, to meet the deadline for North America airmail.
