I woke up this morning firmly convinced it was a Monday. Or possibly a Friday. No, I have no idea why either, but I was confused even after I checked my phone and found out that no, it's actually Wednesday today. Am more convinced of the idea that I'm coming down with the flu that the Sister's only just managed to get over, so am now dosing myself up on cold/flu meds and vitamins.
Finally bought the pantomime tickets on the way into work, and the Mother told me that for at least a few of the performances I'm going to be the Fire Officer, which basically means I sit at the back of the auditorium during the show, wearing a hi-vis jacket and if anything bad goes down, I open the fire doors and direct people out.
In more interesting news, I'm now well into encoding all the Criminal Minds episodes that I finally managed to rip. I've got the first two seasons on DVD, and for some reason the ripping program I usually use was unable to decrypt the data on the DVDS. Score one for the copyright people, but on the other hand I've got this Reid vidlet in my mind that has desperately wanted to be made for months now, so I ended up googling around until I found a ripping program that could actually copy the episodes onto my computer.
There was a whole other issue involving the the audio in the eventual .avi files not playing in sync with the video, but as
t_eyla pointed out, I'm hardly going to need dialogue and whatnot when I'll be setting things to music, so I made myself get over that personal preference.
Even so, I still have to okay the encoding program with each CM ep I run through it, so I still can't leave it running a batch job overnight. But I don't have to fiddle around manually editing the settings for each episode, so I'm considering that one a win in the long run. And the plan is still to get that Reid vidlet made by Christmas, so I'll just have to wait and see how much all this real life stuff is going to take out of me before I get to that stage of the game.
