Mar. 28th, 2010 03:45 pmI'm being held hostage by Daddy Dearest until I buy him some fishing tackle on eBay. This is what happens when you crashland a parent's house to do laundry and look at porn e-mails on the interweb. He's also asked me to point out that when I asked him if I was being held hostage (the auction in question finishes in about four hours) he simply smiled and replied: "Well, how else are you going to get home?"
The man has a point.
Aside from the current, ahem, situation, life has been pretty uneventful lately. Picked up a couple of Neil Gaimain books this week, Anansi Boys and Stardust. Just finished Stardust, and I quite enjoyed that one. I should probably point out that I do most of my book shopping in charity shops, mostly the two on the high street where I live, and I go with what's available. Speaking of which, I finished the first Kathy Reichs book a while ago... and it was mostly unremarkable, with the added bonus of some incongruous info-dumps about Quebec/Montreal. I've got nine other books by her sitting on the shelf at the moment, might as well dig into those at some point, see if I get anymore invested in those! ;)
I also appear to have liberated the Grandparents' Great Unused Cupboard (read: external hard drive that's been plugged into their laptop for a year or more without it ever being used). I've offered to buy it off them a couple of times, but it's now been pointed out to be - by Daddy Dearest, with whom any theoretical blame now squarely lies - that since it's not being used and even he wasn't entirely sure what it was supposed to do(nothing! They don't need it!) then I might as well... take it. Hmm.
Ahh, screw blogging. I'm off to get some homemade rhubarb crumble :D
ETA: Daddy Dearest has decided that the fishing tackle isn't worth having me hang around the house for another two and a half hours. Hey ho ;)
