life, or something like it
Sep. 7th, 2009 07:57 pm. I really need to start flathunting properly very soon, especially if I want to live up to my previous assertion that I want to be settled somewhere on my own by Christmas. I will be moving out and living on my own now, as opposed to the previous plan of moving in with an old schoolfriend, but there are several nice looking and affordable one-beds in the local area that I need to start asking questions about. Have at least two and a half days off this week, so no time like the present!
. Speaking of days off, I need to knuckle down on my big bang fic. Word count's still a major issue, but so is the fact that I'm just not feeling inspired to write at the moment. I mean, the story's been bouncing around in my head for almost a year now, with more details being added here and there as I've learned more canon details, or just had the odd flash of inspiration, and I've found I kind of like having the entire sub-universe as this malleable construct in my head. Getting that onto paper, so to speak, is proving more of a challenge than the actual writing, which is saying something.
. I've just watched the entire first season of The Mentalist in a week. Boy was that fun! I found myself getting pretty invested in the titular character's balance against his darker side; it'll be very interesting to see where they take that in the second season when that starts up in a few weeks.
. Other stuff... work's still a bit crazy and doesn't look like it'll be letting up anytime soon. Which is very good for us, as long as we can keep up with the influx! Got a feeling we'll be able to handle it though.
