My Yays for Today
Jul. 18th, 2008 08:24 pmMy uncle came down yesterday for a couple of days (he's leaving in an hour or so), mostly to see my sister off on her prom, which he sent her to in a horse-drawn carriage (and it was awesome). Today was a lot less hectic, and I got the chance to spend some time with him, as I haven't seen him in seven or eight years.
We ended up going into Seaford and later Brighton and mooching around for a couple of hours. Found several second hand DVD and music shops at the back end of Brighton, and I came away with a couple of boxsets and a CD.
And, and, and!! My laptop came back this afternoon - YAY! The keyboard was replaced, so it's an oddly novel feeling using the laptop without having to plug in a usb keyboard just to get the most basic of tasks done.
I still have to pick up the train tickets I'm going to need to pick up
explodedpen in London on Tuesday - I'll probably end up doing that on Monday. Looking forward to having her stay so much it's unbelievable!
My uncle has also lent me a hard drive full of music - around 14,000 or so songs - and a caddy I can use to finally figure out whether my other 250gb drive actually works or not. I think I get to keep the caddy, but I'm not entirely sure, lol.
Been a very fun day, though. And yeah, I'm enjoying having my laptop's mobility back!
