Above quote courtesy of HIG(More)NFY. The scary thing is it's from an actual diary.

So anyway, in the vein of the above, albeit rather anal, method of recollection of events, I've pulled some commentary out of my arse together on what I've been watching this week.

Warning: I do not always make sense :)

Heroes 1.17 "Company Man"
I do heart me a good backstory and OH GOD did we get it this week. I started out the series thinking HRG was a creepy son-of-a-bitch, something that only increased over the summer, and last night it all turned on its head. Not only his history with the not-paper company, but also with Claude. The - I think - apparent inconsistencies there notwithstanding (and with other points in the series so far, I think; remarkably I've been able to overlook most of them, or at least continue watching despite them) I want to see more of Claude, but I refuse to look up how many episodes he appears in because I can be surprisingly prudish like that. Sometimes.

The clincher for this week though? THE HOUSE EXPLODED.

Also, I wanna make an HRG/Claire vid. I have a song and sequence; all I need are the DVDs. Roll on Christmas.

House 4.05 "Guardian Angels"
I already offered some thoughts over in T'eyla's journal. In short: Love Smug!Dom!Wilson, enjoyed the unusual method of Speedy Characterisation, 'Thirteen' needs to go away now please, and why oh why didn't the writers keep their balls and GET RID OF THE OLD DUCKLINGS ALREADY? I can't remember the last show that managed to keep a cast of nine regulars without everything going FUBAR (DS9 sorta springs to mind, but I can't remember if that was eight or nine). Somehow I think I'm going to stick around to see which newbies make the cut, and make my mind up then.

Dexter: Season 2 so far
I adore the serial format of the episodes; it really is impossible to skip one and keep up with the arc, which made season 1 totally awesome in an 'OMG I have to watch this all in one go!' What I don't adore, on the other hand, are some of the supporting characters and plot elements this season, at least of the four episodes I've watched so far. Pascal was a necessary fall chick for LaGuerta getting her job back, but she still annoyed me. While I love Doakes in full-on Dexter stalking mode, I'm not so fussed about the little side ventures he gets.
Dexter "confessing" to Rita that he was a heroin addict almost made me stop watching. Okay, so he attacked Paul out of impulse, to protect his family. That I - and Rita - can buy. But come on. Dexter Morgan, when he's not killing people, is a meticulous and dedicated blood spatter expert with Miami PD, with a decently sized circle of friends and acquaintances. No way can a heroin addict be that functional. In the scenario of explaining to Rita how he knew how to shoot Paul up with heroin, would it not have been equally plausible to have Dexter admit that yes, the heroin was his, but he could never bring himself to actually inject himself? Or is this just another plot to bring in another recurring character to serve as a foil to the Dexter/Rita relationship. So far, not buying rehab at all. It's the only thing I'm not buying, though, although I'm hesitant to wonder what will happen when it eventually emerges that Dexter is the Bay Harbour Butcher. It can't turn out any other way, yet without resolution to the arc, what happens with any future seasons?

Aside from the Bones season premiere, which I watched a couple of times, I only really watched 'repeats' this week. "Sniper Zero" is still my favourite Numb3rs episode by far and should be used as a litmus for both the show itself and the Charlie/Ian pairing. I made [livejournal.com profile] drakcir watch it while I was at hers last weekend, and she approved of both. She also agreed that the Charlie/Ian vid I'm planning would be hot. And since there's little to no chance of season 3 coming out on DVD anytime soon, I've been pondering making - or trying to make - the vid using only the three episodes Ian Edgerton has appeared in from the first two seasons plus The Triangle, in which Lou Diamond Phillips, who plays Ian, has a semi-solo B-arc. Thoughts? Opinions? Copies of "Sniper Zero" I should distribute to willing parties?? ;)

Wow, that was a lot. I'll be over here, waiting for The Tudors to repeat later on.

I hated HRG for the longest time, I think Company Man was when I started to allow myself to like him, a tad lol.. I loved the black and white transition to color they did for the then and now moments. :)

I love Claude.

It's really hard to respond without talking about things that will spoil the show. SO I'm keeping this short lol. :)

haha, well I was never a fan of Dr. Who. But I enjoy Claude because he's spunky lol.

It's sometimes a lot more fun not knowing what's going to happen. So I totally understand you being a spoilerphobe. :)

You're hating the BBC for being behind with Heroes. And I'm mad I can't see Torchwood season 2 for like a year, because we just started season one here.. I want to see James Marsters on the first episode badly! lol. I don't even care about the show I just want James. *hangs head*.
